Product information

AEROSUND (Dampskibsselskabet Aero A/S)
Passenger, car and train ferry built at Hussum, West Germany. She entered service in May 1960 as Aerosund for private Danish company D/S Aero, operating between Aeroskobing and Svendborg. Rebuilt in 1970. She stopped carrying railway wagons in 1995 and was finally withdrawn in 1999. In 2000 she was sold to Frank Steen of Svendborg and converted into a "circus ship" carrying the name Circus Sky, visiting ports around Denmark. She was sold in 2005 to Svendborg Ship Management and renamed Aerosund II but was inactive and laid up at Svendborg. Sold in 2010 to Tonny Madsen and in 2014 was sunk off Ballen, Funen (Fyn) as an artificial reef.
