ALEXANDER Von HUMBOLDT (Phoenix Reisen)
Ordered to be a Soviet research vessel, the construction was taken over by V-Ships for charter to Swan Hellenic, then a division of P&O, as their new (in 1996) cruise ship Minerva. From 2003 she sailed for Saga as Saga Pearl, for Abercrombie & Kent as Explorer II and for Phoenix Reisen as Alexander Von Humboldt. In 2007 she was purchased by the newly independent Swan-Hellenic to sail as Minerva again. Swan Hellenic went into administration in 2017.
