ALHENA (Rotterdam South America Line)

Cargo passenger liner built at Amsterdam for the Rotterdam Zuid - Amerika Lijn. Launched 6/1940 as Algol but seized by the German Navy when completed in 1943 and then damaged in air raids. Recovered in 1945 at Wilhelmshaven and finally in service for her owners in 1947 now renamed Alhena. Sold to Cypriot owners in 1968 and renamed Alda. Broken up at Kaohsiung in 1973.
