Product information

ALTE LIEBE (HADAG)
Passenger ferry built by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, for HADAG as Wappen Von Hamburg. She entered service in 1962 between Hamburg, Cuxhaven and Helgoland. A plan to charter her for cruises out of Miami in the winter was cancelled and the following winter she was chartered to Skagen Line for service between Gothenburg and Frederikshavn. Sold to Stena Line in October 1964 and renamed Wappen for service from Gothenburg to Frederikshavn or Sandefjord. In 1965 she sailed under the promoted names Jatten Finn and then Mac Finn. Sold back to HADAG in April 1966 and renamed Alte Liebe, Helgoland service again. Laid up in Hamburg in 1982. Sold to Reederi D. Oltman in 1984 and renamed Helgoland, now operating out of Bremerhaven. Sold to B. Warrings in 1986, same service. Sold in 2004 to Fördereederei-Seetouristik GmbH & Co., same name and service. Sold to SupperClub Cruise in 2005 and renamed Supper Club Cruise 02, she went to Turkey for an overhaul but from 2011 was laid up in Haifa. Plans to convert her to a yacht failed and she was broken up at Aliaga in 2014.
