this card is an artists impression that was issued before she entered service and is not quite accurate to her actual appearance.
ANDES (Royal Mail Lines)
Passenger liner built by Harland & Wolff, Belfast, that should of made her maiden voyage September 1939, but was instead converted into a troopship at Liverpool. She eventually made her first commercial voyage, with a black hull, Southampton to South America in 1948. In 1959 she was rebuilt at Flushing (Vlissingen) as a one class cruise ship and painted white. In 1971 she was broken up at Ghent, Belgium.
