ARAMIS (Messageries Maritimes)
Passenger liner built at La Seyne that made her maiden voyage in 1932, Marseilles to the Far East as Aramis for Messageries Maritimes. Lengthened in 1935. Originally had a black hull but was repainted white in 1936. Converted to an auxiliary cruiser 1939/40 but was disarmed at Saigon following the French surrender. Requisitioned by the Japanese and renamed Teia Maru. Sunk in 1944 by submarine USS Rasher.
