postcard issued for all ships in Achilles-class, vessel pictured is Ares but Achilles, Archimedes, Ares, Ceres, Diogenes, Palamedes, Pericles, and Socrates are all named on the card. (eventually there were 14 ships in the class)

ARES (Royal Netherlands/K.N.S.M.)

Cargo liner (12 passengers) built at Amsterdam in 1959 as Ares for Royal Netherlands (KNSM). Lengthened in 1966 at Rozenburg. Sold in 1977 to Bravo Ares Shipping (Piraeus) and renamed Bravo Ares. Laid up in 1981 and broken up at Alang in 1985.
