BACTRIA (Cunard Line)
Cargo ship launched in 1928 for the American Levant Line by J.L. Thompson, Sunderland, as Bactria. Cunard took over the Mediterranean services of this company and she entered service for them in 1931. Sold in 1954 Compania Isla Bella, Costa Rica, and renamed Theo. Sold in 1958 to Capital S.A. of Montevideo and renamed Catalina S. Sold in 1962 to Bahamas Peral Co. and renamed Bahamas Pearl, and later the same year to the National Shipping Co. of Trinidad, reverting to Catalina S, but she was wrecked 21/12/1962 west of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
