Product information

BAHAMA STAR (Eastern Steamship Lines)
Built in 1931 as Borinquen for Porto Rico Line for New York-San Juan service. Served as a transport for the US Army from 1942 to 1946. Resumed commercial service in 1947 and was sold to Bull Line in 1949 and renamed Puerto Rico, same route. Laid up in 1951, she was sold to Arosa Line in 1951 and renamed Arosa Star, being rebuilt at Bremerhaven. When that company folded she was sold to Eastern Steamship Lines and renamed Bahama Star, cruising from Miami. Sold in 1969 for conversion to a floating restaurant, renamed La Jenelle. She drifted aground on a beach at Port Hueneme, California during a gale in 1970, and was broken up in situ.
