BALMORAL (P&A Campbell)

Built in 1949 by Thornycroft at Southampton, she served Red Funnel on the Southampton to Cowes route but also ran excursions and did tendering work. She was withdrawn in 1968, laid up at Weymouth, and then chartered to P&A Campbell in 1969 for excursions in the Bristol Channel. They purchased her in 1979, but she was laid up from 1980 until 1982 when she was purchased for use as a floating pub and restaurant in Dundee. This venture soon failed and she was laid up until the end of 1984 when she was purchased by the Waverley organisation. They rebuilt her and painted her white and she entered service, based at Bristol, in 1986. Since then she ran excursions from various ports around the British coast. She was not in service in 2013, laid up at Bristol but after the efforts of a group of supporters she returned in 2014 operating under the banner "White Funnel Cruises". She has been named Balmoral throughout her career.
