Product information

BASKUNCHAK
Built in 1965 as a timber carrier named Kirishi. In 1968 she was taken over by the Soviet military and converted to an expeditionary oceanographic ship named Baskunchak. Part of her role was to pick up Russian space capsules from the sea from a planned moon program. In 1996 she went to Ukraine as Tchernivtsy and was decommissioned in 1999.
