BEN-MY-CHREE (Isle Of Man Steam Packet Company)

Isle Of Man Steam Packet Co., ferry built in 1966 by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead. She was the last of the company's' fleet to be built with 2-tier passenger accommodation although within a year she was converted to a single class, and also their last steamship. Whilst principally serving on the route out of Liverpool she was also later to be seen operating out of Ardrossan, Belfast, Dublin and Fleetwood. She was withdrawn in 1984 and sold for use as a restaurant ship in Florida, but briefly chartered back to IOMSP during the TT races in 1985. The Florida project failed and she never crossed the Atlantic and was eventually broken up in Spain in 1989.
