BLUENOSE (Canadian National)

Drive On - Drive Off ferry built by Davie Shipbuilding, Lauzon, Quebec and named Bluenose for Canadian National Railways. She entered service in 1956, operating between Bar Harbor, Maine and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia carrying 150 cars and 600 passengers. Replaced in 1982 she was sold in 1983 to the Electric Boat Company for use as a floating machine shop at Groton, Connecticut, and renamed Marine Bluenose. In 1996 she was towed to Tampa Bay, Florida, and spent several years in decay. She was broken up in 2000 at Tuxpan, Mexico.
