BRODICK CASTLE (Cosens & Co?)

Paddle steamer built in 1878 for service in Scottish waters. Sold in 1887 to the Bournemouth company for excursions from Bournemouth Pier. When her owners folded she passed into ownership of Cosens & Co with no change in service. At the end of 1909 she was stripped and rebuilt as a cattle barge for a Mr. Constant, renamed Peca Nova for service on the River Plate. However shortly after the start of her tow from Weymouth she began to take in water and foundered just off Portland Bill.
