CAP POLONIO (Hamburg-Sud)
Launched for Hamburg South America Line as Cap Polonio in 1914 she was completed as an auxiliary cruiser renamed Vineta. However she proved unsuitable and was returned for refitting as a passenger liner, named Cap Polonio, with the work suspended for the duration of the war. In 1919 she was transferred to Britain and sailed on one voyage each for Union-Castle and P&O. Laid up in 1920, she was sold back to Hamburg-South America in 1921, entering service in 1922. She was laid up in 1931 because of the depression and broken up at Bremerhaven in 1935.
