CARINTHIA (Cunard Line)
Passenger liner built by John Brown, Clydebank, for the Cunard Line that entered service, Liverpool to Canada, in 1956 as Carinthia. Withdrawn and sold to Sitmar in 1968, renamed Fairland but remained laid up at Southampton. Rebuilt as a cruise ship in 1971 and renamed Fairsea. When Sitmar was purchased by P&O/Princess in 1988 she became Fair Princess, transferring to P&O Australia in 1996. She was sold 2000 to Emerald Cruises as China Sea Discovery, the owners becoming China Sea Cruises in 2002. Casino cruises. Laid up at Kaohsiung in 2003 she was broken up at Alang in 2005/6.
