Product information

Passenger liner built by Alex Stephen & Sons, Glasgow. Originally built with 2 funnels and painted in P&Os traditional black colour scheme she entered service on the Far East route in 1931, transferring to the Australian service in 1932. In 1939 she was taken up as an armed merchant cruiser and then in 1943 converted to a troopship. She was rebuilt in 1948 with a single funnel and painted white. Withdrawn in 1961 and broken up in Japan.
