Product information

DALERDYK (Holland-America Line)
Cargo passenger liner, she had accomodation for 50 passengers. Built at Rotterdam she made her maiden voyage, Rotterdam to Vancouver, in 1930 for Holland-America as Damsterdijk. She was seized by the Germans in 1940, originally planned to be part of the invasion of Britain (Operation Sealion) but from 1941 was used as a target ship, managed by Hamburg-America with the name Mulhausen. She was returned to Holland-America, badly damaged, in 1946 and then repaired and returned to service as Damsterdijk. Over-winter 1948/9 she was re-engined and modernised and re-entered service named Dalerdyk. She was broken up in Japan in 1963.
