DEUTSCHLAND (Deutsche Bundesbahn)

Train ferry built in 1972 at Rendsburg, Germany, as Deutschland for the German State Railway service from Puttgarden to Rodby. From 1991 she was sailing for DFO (Deutsche Fährverkehrsgesellschaft Ostsee). In 1998 she was sold to El Salam Shipping of Suez and renamed El Salam 97. After delivery to Port Said she suffered a major mechanical breakdown and in 1999 was sold for breaking up at Alang, India.

THEODOR HEUSS (Deutsche Bundesbahn)

Train, passenger and car ferry built in 1957 for the West German State Railway Company as Theodor Heuss and originally operating between Grossenbrode, West Germany, and Gedser in Denmark. In 1963 she moved to the Puttgarden - Rodby route and in 1993 came under the ownership of a new German train ferry company. Withdrawn in 1997 and sold for breaking up at Alang, India.
