DOULOS (Good Books For All)

Launched 1914 for Mallory SS Co, as fruit-carrier Medina. During WW2 she served with the US Coast Guard. In 1948 she was purchased by Cia. Nav. San Miguel and converted into a passenger ship named Roma. In 1952 she was sold to Costa and renamed Franca C originally running between Italy and South America in 1959 she was converted into a cruise ship. Purchased in 1977 by Gute Bücher für Alle and renamed Doulos she became a floating bookshop and missionary ship. In 2010 she was sold to be converted into a floating hotel and restaurant named Doulos Phos.
