DRAGON (Normandy Ferries)
Built for General Steam Navigation (part of the P&O group), she entered service in 1967 as Dragon on the Normandy Ferries' Southampton to Le Havre service. The UK port moved to Portsmouth in 1984. Sold in 1985 to Townsend Thoresen and in 1986 was renamed Ionic Ferry and placed on the Cairnryan to Larne service. In 1987, along with all the Townsend-Thoresen fleet, she returned to P&O ownership. Sold in 1992 to Matelot Shipping of Piraeus and renamed Viscountess M and placed on the Patras-Ancona route. Renamed Charms M in 1995 but was arrested by Greek port authorities in 1996. Sold in 1997 to the Georgian Shipping Company and renamed Memed Abashidze, placed on a Batumi - Venice service. Sold to Access Ferries in 1999 and renamed Millennium Express II. She was badly damaged by a fire in 2002 and broken up at Aliaga, Turkey in 2003.
