EARL HAROLD (B&I Line, charter)
Passenger and car ferry built at Venice that entered service, as Ailsa Princess, for British Rail/Sealink Stranraer to Larne service in 1971. She was chartered by the Ministry Of Defence in 1982 for trials as a minelayer, she then moved to the Weymouth - Cherbourg service for Sealink. In 1985 she was renamed Earl Harold and placed on the Channel Islands route. Sold to Greek interests in 1989 as Dimitra. Further sales followed, to Agapitos in 1994 as Naias Express, and to Minoan Flying Dolphins in 2000 as Express Adonis. In 2005 she was sold to an American-based businessman, as New Caribbean Princess, but remained idle in Greece until 2010 when she was broken up in India.
