EEMDYK (Holland America Line)
Built by Caledon, Dundee. Laid down as Empire Albion, an Empire Chieftain-class fast cargo ship designed to carry heavy or long loads with some refrigerated space and accommodation for 36 passengers. Completed in 1944 as Terborch for the Dutch Government and managed by Nederland Line. In 1946 ownership passed to Holland America Line and she was renamed Eemdijk, with the name adjusted to Eemdyk in 1953. Sold to Mid East Lines (CY Tung Group) in 1960 and renamed Orient Merchant. Sold to Labrador Cia Nav (Monrovia) in 1965 and renamed Zambesi. Broken up 11/1967 Kaohsiung.
