FRANCONIA (Cunard Line)
Passenger liner built by John Brown, Clydebank, in 1955 as Ivernia for Cunards' Canada service. Rebuilt as a cruise ship 1962 and renamed Franconia. Laid up 1971 first in Southampton then on the River Fal, until purchased in 1973 by the Far Eastern Shipping Company and renamed Fedor Shalyapin. After the break up of the Soviet Union she transferred to Odessa Cruise in 1992 and was renamed Salona. Broken up 2004
