Product information

GOLDEN GALLEON
Royal Navy Fairmile 'B' launch (ML162) built in 1942 with experimental high speed diesel engines. During WW2 she is credited with shooting down 6 aircraft, taking part in the sinking of a German U-boat and was "highly commended" for her part in the D-Day landings. After the war she spent a couple of years with the Royal Netherlands Navy. In 1952 she was purchased and converted for cruising on the Norfolk Broads and sea trips from Great Yarmouth, renamed Golden Galleon. She maintained this role until the 1990s but unable to keep up with modern safety requirements was abandoned in the Norfolk Broads. Broken up 2006.
