GUGLIELMO MARCONI (Lloyd Triestino)

Passenger liner built at Monfalcone, Italy, that entered service in 1963 on the Lloyd Triestino Australia service as Guglielmo Marconi. In 1976 she sailed for Italia on their Italy-River Plate service but was laid up in 1977. Cruising for Italia from 1978 but laid up again in 1980 until purchased by Costa in 1983. Rebuilt as the cruise ship Costa Riviera she entered Costa service in 1984. In 1993 she sailed for American Family Cruises as American Adventure but this venture was not a success and she returned to Costa as Costa Riviera. She was withdrawn and broken up at Alang in 2002.
