KING HARRY FERRY (4)

Chain ferry that entered service in 1951 having been converted from a landing craft by Holman's of Penzance. Originally steam powered but converted to diesel in 1956. Could carry 10-12 cars. Replaced in 1964.

NEVASA (British India Line)

Built as a full-time troopship in 1956, and laid up in the River Fal in 1962 when trooping switched to air transport. In 1964 she was converted, at Falmouth, to an educational cruise ship. Withdrawn at the start of 1975 as her powerful engines proved too expensive to run after the rise in oil prices. Broken up at Kaohsiung.
