LA GASCOGNE (French Line)
Passenger liner built with 4 masts at La Seyne that entered service in 1886 between Le Havre and New York. Rebuilt with 2 masts in 1894. In 1912 she was transferred to Cie Sud-Atlantique and operated from Bordeaux to South America. In 8/1914 she was converted to an auxiliary cruiser. In 1915 she briefly returned to commercial service before being requisitioned as a depot ship based at Salonika. She was returned to her owners in 1918 but was in such poor condition that she was laid up at Bordeaux and sold for breaking up at Genoa the following year.
