having learnt that the Prussians had offered a reward for his capture, dead or alive, Napoleon sought asylum from Captain Maitland of HMS Bellerophon early in the morning 15/7/1815.
this card depicts his departure from Rochefort 8/7/1815 on the French frigates Saale and Meduse.
