NEW FLAMENCO (Globalia)

Cruise ship built 1972. Ordered by Norwegian Caribbean her hull was sold to P&O and she was launched as Spirit Of London. When P&O purchased Princess Cruises in 1974 she was renamed Sun Princess.In 1988 sold to Premier Cruises as Majestic, then Starship Majestic. Purchased by CTC in 1994 and renamed Southern Cross, until sold again in 1998 to Festival and renamed Flamenco. When Festival went bankrupt in 2004 she was sold at auction, becoming New Flamenco and new owners in 2007 used her as a hotel ship in New Caledonia. Despite being reported as sold for scrap in 2012 she was reported operating cruises between China and Vietnam as Ocean Dream. Abandoned by her Chinese owners for over a year, she capsized off the coast of Thailand at the end of February 2016.
