NIEUW AMSTERDAM (Holland-America Line)
Passenger liner built by Harland & Wolff, Belfast, that made her maiden voyage from Rotterdam to New York in 1906. She still made some transatlantic voyages after the outbreak of WW1 but also spent some time in lay-up in New York. When the US entered the war in 1917 she was chartered by the US Government. She returned to commercial service in 1919 and made her final transatlantic crossing in 1932. Broken up at Osaka, Japan.
