NOORDAM (Holland-America Line)
She made her maiden voyage from Rotterdam to New York in 1902 as Noordam for Holland-America Line. After the outbreak of WW1 she remained on the North Atlantic route but not on a regular schedule (The Netherlands were neutral). She hit a mine in 10/1914 in the North Sea but survived but hit another 8/1917 off the Netherlands and this time after repair was laid up. Returned to commercial service in 1919, Rotterdam - Falmouth - Brest - New York. in 1923/24 she was chartered to Swedish-America Line and temporarily renamed Kungsholm. She reverted to Noordam in 1925 but was only in service until 4/1927 when she was withdrawn, being broken up in 1928.
