SANTHIA (British India Line)

Passenger liner built in 1950 by Barclay Curle, Glasgow, as Santhia for the British India Line service from Calcutta to Japan. Sold in 1967 to the Shipping Corporation Of India and renamed State Of Haryana for their Bombay to East Africa service. From 1974 she operated from Calcutta to Port Blair in the Andaman Islands but engine problems in 1976 lead her to being laid up. Broken up at Bombay in 1977.
