SCIROCCO (CoMaNav)

Passenger and car ferry built by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead, that entered service in 1975 for Sealink on the Harwich to Hook of Holland service as St. Edmund. Requisitioned for service in the Falklands in 1982 and then purchased by the Ministry Of Defence in 1983 and renamed Keren. Purchased by Cenargo in 1986 and renamed Scirocco, then chartered to Tirrenia, Comanav, Trasmediterranea, and then Cotunav, all for Mediterranean services. Refitted at Southampton in 1991 then chartered to British Channel Island Ferries as Rozel. Reverted to Scirocco in 1992 with charters to Trasmediterranea, FerriMaroc, Comanav, and Cotunav. In 2004 sold to El Salam Maritime of Cairo and renamed Santa Catherine, and chartered to Comanav then Algerie Ferries before doing pilgrim voyages in the Red Sea. Renamed Sara 3 in 2006 and broken up in India in 2009.
