ST PATRICK (British Railways)

Passenger ferry built by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead, that entered service in 1948 as St. Patrick on the Weymouth - Channel islands service with the funnel colours of the Fishguard company. Purchased by the British Transport Commission in 1959 and from then wore British Rail colours. During her employment on the Jersey and Guernsey runs, she also operated on the Southampton - Le Havre and Southampton - St. Malo routes. In 1964 she moved to Dover - Calais and in 1965 to Folkestone - Boulogne. Withdrawn in 1971 and laid up at Newhaven. Purchased in 1972 by Gerasimos S. Fetouris and renamed Thermopylae. Rebuilt then sold in 1973 to Agapitos Bros. and renamed Agapitos 1 and placed on a Piraeus - Mykonos service. Laid up in 1976 and scrapped at Perama in 1980.
