TERN (British Railways)
Excursion vessel built in 1891 for operation on Windermere and still in service today. Originally built for the Furness Railway, from 1923 she operated for the London Midland & Scottish Railway, from 1948 for British Railways and is now operated by Windermere Lake Cruises. Built with a tall slender funnel, she was given a short squat funnel in 1958 but reverted to her original appearance in 1990/1.
