THE AZUR (Festival Cruises)

Passenger and car ferry built in 1971 by Dubigeon Normandie, Nantes, for Southern Ferries (General Steam Navigation) as Eagle for Southampton to Tangier service, Sold in 1975 To Nouvelle Compagnie de Paquebots (Paquet) and renamed Azur, operating out of Toulon. In 1981 she was rebuilt as a full-time cruise ship. Chartered to Chandris in 1987 becoming The Azur. She kept this name when chartered to Festival Cruises between 1994 and 2004. When Festival collapsed in 2004 she was sold to Golden Cruises (Mano Maritime) and renamed Royal Iris. Laid up at Chalkis in 2014. Renamed Roy Star in 9/2016. Sold in 2017 to Russian company Black Sea Cruises and renamed Knyaz Vladimir.
