THE QUEEN (South East & Chatham Railway)
Passenger ferry built 1903 by Denny, Dumbarton, she was the world's first cross-channel turbine steamer. She operated, at different times from Dover or Folkestone to Calais or Boulogne. She was captured and sunk by the crew of a German destroyer in 1916.
