Product information

TROPICALE
Cruise ship built by Aalborg Shipyard, Denmark, for their own subsidary AVL Marine. On completion in 12/1981 she was placed on a 10 year charter with Carnival Cruise Line as Tropicale, in effect becoming the first newbuild for that company making her first cruise 1/1982. Carnival purchased her when the charter ended in 1991. In 2001 she was transferred to Costa Cruises and renamed Costa Tropicale. Transferred again at the end of 2005 to P&O (Australia) and renamed Pacific Star. Sold to Pullmantur Cruises in 2008 and renamed Ocean Dream. Sold to Peace Boat, Japan, in 2012 for cruising out of Fukuoka.
