WAVERLEY (Waverley Excursions)

The last sea-going, passenger-carrying paddle-steamer in the world. She was built in 1946 for the Clyde services of LNER, being transferred to the Caledonian Steam Packet in 1948. She was withdrawn in 1973 and sold to the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society for a nominal fee (£1). She was then renovated as an excursion vessel operated by Waverley Excursions around the coasts of Britain.
